Registration

When will registration close? What are the registration rates?

Early Bird registration closes September 4 and Pre-registration closes October 2. For registration rates please see the Registration page.

What does my registration fee include?

Full conference registration fees include access to all learning activities Monday-Wednesday, the Opening Reception, and Exhibit Hall. Registered attendees will also receive access to all available session handouts online and the participant list. Meals included are food and beverage at the Monday evening event, tea and coffee Monday-Wednesday in the Exhibit Hall; and lunch Monday and Tuesday. Lunch is included on Saturday and Sunday for workshop attendees participating in full-day or two half-day workshops on the same day.

I am not a member of SRAI but my coworker is and cannot attend. Can I use their membership to register at the member rate? 

Membership for SRAI is individual and nontransferable to others. However, research professionals registering for the meeting as a nonmember will receive a complimentary one-year membership for SRA International! For more information on SRA International membership please see the Membership page

Will I receive a confirmation of my registration?

A confirmation of your registration will be sent to you via email immediately upon registering online or via phone. The confirmation will come from the email address registration@srainternational.org, so please add this address to your "safe list." For registrations made by check, please allow two weeks for processing; confirmation of registration will be sent via email upon processing. If you do not receive confirmation after 30 days, please do not hesitate to contact our registration department at +1 (703) 741-0140 ext. 222 or at registration@srainternational.org.

Will I be refunded if I have to cancel my registration?

We are sorry that you won't be able to join us for this exceptional learning and networking experience! However, we understand that things happen so if you simply can't attend, please notify us per email at registration@srainternational.org by September 25. Refunds will be processed less a $75 meeting cancellation fee and $25 cancellation fee per workshop administrative fee. No refunds will be made after September 25 or for no-shows. Registration substitutions from the same institution are accepted; membership substitutions are not accepted. If you are unable to attend but someone else from your organization can come in your place, please notify us in writing via email at registration@srainternational.org.

I am bringing my family with me, will there be activities for them to enjoy?

Family and friends will love Boston and the surrounding area, so invite them to join you! While the attendee ticket for the Opening Reception is already included in your registration fee, guest tickets could be purchased. I am an international attendee, do I need a visa to come to the meeting?

General Info

Where will the conference program take place?

The conference will be held at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. Locations for all events not being held at the main conference hotel will be noted in the Schedule-at-a-Glance.

What is the dress code?

We want you to be comfortable so you can enjoy your meeting experience! Therefore, business casual dress is strongly encouraged. We suggest bringing a light sweater or jacket with you during the day as the conference rooms are air-conditioned.

How could I give back to the Society?

If you want to get the most out of the 2020 SRAI Annual Meeting, get involved by choosing one of the different volunteer opportunities onsite. Don’t miss your chance for networking opportunities with fellow research administrators! Check our Volunteer page for more information. The volunteer opportunities will be available in July. 

Can I buy individual additional event tickets for the Monday opening reception? What is the cost?

The opening reception on Monday is already included in the full meeting registration. Individual guest tickets for the reception are available online in advance or onsite. For guidelines of purchasing guest ticket and pricing, check our Registration Page. Tickets may be purchased for $80 online in advance or $95 onsite; tickets for children are $35 online in advance and $45 onsite.

Is there an App for the event? 

The SRAI Mobile App will be available for download closer to the event. We advise you to download the App in advance, so you can put your own schedule together and download session presentations. The App does not require the Internet once you have downloaded it to retrieve the information or your schedule. Only presentation slides need to be downloaded in advance to be able to open without the internet.  

What is the best way to stay tuned to news about the conference?

The main conference website is updated on a constant basis and we are sending update emails as well. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn for more details.


Education

Which certificates are offered at this year’s SRAI Annual Meeting? 

The three (3) certificates that will be offered in their entirety at the 2020 SRAI Annual Meeting are Leadership (LD); Practice of Research Administration and Management (PRAM); Research Law (RL). Check out the Certificates page for the most recent information. 

How do I know which sessions I need if I want to finish a Certificate at the 2020 SRAI Annual Meeting? 

Please check the Certificates page for a complete list of the certificates offered at the 2020 SRAI Annual Meeting with the required workshops and concurrent sessions. You can download in advance the certificate tracking sheets for each certificate. These sheets will be updated periodically as session updates come through. You can get a full certificate tracking booklet onsite at SRAI Registration. 

Do I need to sign up for a workshop in advance? What is the charge for a workshop? 

Workshops are optional pre-conference events that need extra signup in advance. There are full-day and half-day workshops that take place on Saturday and Sunday before the conference. For pricing information, please check the Registration Page

Where could I find more information about the workshops and the concurrent sessions?

Do I need to sign up in advance for the concurrent sessions on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday?

The concurrent sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are part of the conference registration rate. You don’t need to select sessions in advance. For the complete program, please check the Education Page in May 2020. 

Is there a difference between Tracks and Certificates?

Tracks are designed to develop the content in a way that assures value added opportunities for attendees. Tracks represent major subjects and issues in research administration.

The SRAI Certificate Program offers comprehensive training in specific areas of research administration. The three (3) certificates that will be offered in their entirety at the 2020 SRAI Annual Meeting are Leadership (LD); Practice of Research Administration and Management (PRAM); Research Law (RL). What is a Learning Café

The Learning Café offers a venue for attendees to exchange ideas, ask questions, share solutions and “continue the conversation” about topics in research administration. For a full schedule of the Learning Café and additional information, please visit the Learning Cafe Page.

What is a Quick Talk?

A Quick Talk is a 15-minute presentation that will be combined with two other similar presentations in one 60 minute session. New and experienced presenters are invited to try out this new format.
 


Hotel

What hotels have been reserved?

This year the main conference hotel is the Sheraton Boston Hotel, 39 Dalton Street, Boston, MA. Please refer to the Hotel Page for more information, rates and how to book your room. If you have any questions please contact Emily Mincey at emincey@srainternational.org.

Can I make my hotel reservations now?

The Annual Meeting room block is open. Please note that in order to reserve your hotel room, you need to do it through the official hotel page. Meeting registration and hotel reservations are separate from each other. SRA International is not responsible for hotel reservations.

What is the conference room rate?

SRA International has secured a block of rooms at $294 USD + tax/night.

How and when to cancel my room?

We are sorry that you won't be joining us. You must cancel your room reservation 3 days prior to your scheduled arrival to the hotel to receive a refund. Your room reservation and meeting registration are separate from each other. Cancelling your meeting registration does NOT cancel your room reservation and vice versa.


Exhibit Hall

When is the Exhibit Hall open?

The Exhibit hall will be open Monday from 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM, on Tuesday from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM and on Wednesday from 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM. The morning and afternoon breaks will be located in the Exhibit hall each day. For a full list of this year’s exhibitors, please visit the Exhibit Hall Page.

Are there other ways for me to connect with exhibitors?

We know you might not be able to get all your questions answered during exhibit hall hours, so don’t hesitate to contact any of this year’s exhibitors through the Mobile App (coming in September).
